Paul Kilian
Visionary, Builder & CEO
Paul works closely with clients to bring their dream homes to life. From staking the site to adding the final touches, he’s hands-on through every step of the build. Outside of work, you’ll find Paul chasing his five kids around the family’s old farmhouse, spending time with his wife, Amy, or tackling the next project.
Tyler Zahler
JOB SUPERVISOR & CARPENTER
Tyler specializes in crafting custom cabinetry in-house, bringing skill and attention to detail to every piece. When he’s not in the shop or working his full-time job as a firefighter, you’ll find him lending a hand on job sites wherever he’s needed. When he's not working, he's preparing to welcome his first child with his wife, Mollie.
Nate Schindler
JOB SUPERVISOR & CARPENTER
Nate can do it all — and does. Our go-to for maintenance, cabinet and finishing work, and vendor shop runs. We're grateful to have him on the crew. Outside of work, Nate prepares for his wedding with fiance, Anna.
Julie Shold
ADMINISTRATION & DESIGN
Julie wears many hats at Kilian Construction! From keeping daily operations running smoothly with payroll and administration to coordinating designs and helping clients select the finishing touches that make their homes uniquely theirs, Julie does a little bit of everything. Outside of work, Julie spends time with her husband Caleb and growing family of nieces and nephews as an amazing aunt.
Zach Fairchild
Job SUPERVISOR
Zach leads daily supervision of job sites and oversees projects go exactly as planned. He's also an expert carpenter, building custom pieces for the homes we create. He's patient and a perfectionist, using his skills to also create expert fine carpentry finishes. When he's not working, he's spending time with his wife Katie and two girls.
Founders Story
Where it started.
"Coming from a family that's owned an electric company for 50 years — Bob Kilian Electric — I grew up on job sites. When I was a kid, I built my first project, a shed, with my grandpa Ray Holthaus. He gave me my first tool set at a really young age. I had a saw and power tools before most kids probably should. I started making furniture young, then custom furniture in high school. In time, our custom cabinetry shop opened."
From cabinets to custom homes.
"During the 2008 recession I decided to take on a new, much grander project: a house. It was always my dream to build houses eventually. I figured, what do I have to lose? The first house I built was for myself — in the heart of the recession — and it sold right away by word of mouth. It wasn't even on the market. It was so popular, I built two more of the same floor plan and they sold before they were listed too. After that, Kilian Construction took off. Our work speaks for itself."
